What is the Everyday Anthology

The Everyday Anthology is one of the essential pieces of the Niyama Saucha project.

It is a photographic archive in which I show people who meet three basic requirements:

— They practice yoga on a regular basis

— They are shown in the photograph performing a yoga posture

— They are accompanied by an element of cleanliness (a broom, a cloth, etc.)

The archive is made up of several files dedicated to each of the participants. Specifically, each participant’s file consists of two essential elements:

1. A photograph in which that person appears performing a yoga posture next to a cleaning element.

2. Information about their daily life in relation to work, yoga and household chores.

What should photographs look like?

To maintain coherence in the Everyday Anthology, the photographs must meet a series of requirements:

1. Minimum size of 300 kB

2. In color

3. Framing parallel to the posture (put the camera close to the ground)

4. Square format (if the posture is vertical, take the photo horizontally and vice versa)

5. Black clothing

6. Located at home (try not to let the background interfere too much)

In this way I intend for Niyama Saucha to be a whole, both in form and content.

In any case, if these instructions seem complex to you, do not worry and take the photograph as best you can.
